Stade Rennais and Marseille stall in Alidu Seidu transfer talks

Negotiations between Stade Rennais and Olympique de Marseille regarding the transfer of Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu have reached an impasse. Marseille has submitted an initial offer for the 26-year-old, but Rennes has rejected the proposal, demanding a higher transfer fee.

Seidu, who is under contract with Rennes until June 2029, has reportedly been excluded from the first-team squad and is training individually as he seeks a move away from the club. The versatile defender, capable of playing at center-back and right-back, joined Rennes from Clermont Foot in 2024. While Marseille's valuation and various reports suggest a range between €6 million and €10 million, Rennes is holding out for a more significant sum to finalize the deal.
