Stade Rennais pursues Charlie Cresswell and Jonathan David in summer transfer window

Stade Rennais is reportedly close to completing the signing of England centre‑back Charlie Cresswell from Toulouse FC. Negotiations have centred on a fee of about €28 million, including bonuses, as Rennes look to replace departing defender Jérémy Jacquet.

The club is also monitoring Canadian striker Jonathan David, currently at Juventus. Estimated at €30 million, the move is complicated by the player’s high salary, Juventus’ desire to retain him and interest from other clubs such as Tottenham and Trabzonspor. Rennes’ limited financial capacity makes the potential acquisition challenging.

Both transfer targets are being assessed as Rennes aim to strengthen its squad ahead of the next Ligue 1 season.
