Olympique de Marseille and Stade Rennais drive summer transfer moves

Olympique de Marseille coach Bruno Genesio has identified LOSC midfielder Ethan Mbappé as a potential signing. The 19‑year‑old, brother of Kylian Mbappé, is being evaluated for his sporting promise, but the club faces strict DNCG financial limits that could restrict a deal estimated around €10 million.

Stade Rennais’ academy continues to produce high‑value players. 22‑year‑old winger Loum Tchaouna, a product of the Rennes youth system, has completed a €23 million transfer to Premier League side Coventry, underscoring the French club’s reputation for developing talent that commands significant fees abroad.

At the same time, Rennes is working to retain its top scorer Estéban Lepaul, who netted 21 goals in Ligue 1 this season. The club has begun contract talks despite reported interest from Atlético Madrid, Benfica and other European teams, with offers rumored to reach €60 million. Rennes’ sporting director Loïc Désiré affirmed the intention to keep the striker at the Roazhon Park.
