Stade Rennais Secures Charlie Cresswell Transfer for €25 Million

After several weeks of intense negotiations, Stade Rennais and Toulouse FC reached an agreement to transfer 23‑year‑old English centre‑back Charlie Cresswell. Rennes lifted its initial €20 million ceiling and accepted a fee of around €25 million, matching Toulouse’s demand.

The deal, confirmed by Ouest‑France, is expected to be finalised within the coming week, making Cresswell the seventh signing of Rennes this transfer window. Toulouse will pocket the €25 million, a substantial profit on the €4.5 million they paid for the defender in 2024. The arrival will prompt Rennes to free up squad space, with defenders Nordan Mukiele and Lilian Brassier mentioned as possible departures.

Coach Franck Haise praised the acquisition, noting Cresswell will strengthen a restructured defence ahead of the new season.
