Stade Rennais strengthens squad in 2026 summer transfer window

Stade Rennais confirmed the signing of striker Issa Soumaré from Le Havre on a contract until 2030, adding to recent arrivals such as free‑transfer defender Adrien Thomasson, whose deal runs to 2029, and the secured future of midfielder Esteban Lepaul.

Club manager Franck Haise said the team will still target two key areas before the market closes: a top‑class centre‑back to bring stability and a high‑level goalkeeper to compete with Brice Samba.

The club is also linked with several potential moves, including a reported interest in 19‑year‑old defender Gonçalo Oliveira, while the departure of Albert Gronbaek to Hamburg has already been confirmed.

These activities are part of Rennes’ broader effort to rebuild the squad after a disappointing season and aim for a higher Ligue 1 finish.
