Stade Rennais targets top-five finish in Ligue 1

Stade Rennais players and coaching staff have expressed high ambitions for the 2026-2027 season following a 2-2 draw against Paris Saint-Germain. Midfielder Adrien Thomasson, who joined the club this summer, stated that the squad has sufficient depth to compete in both Ligue 1 and the Europa League, aiming for at least a top-five finish.

Coach Franck Haise echoed these goals, stating his intention to ‘do better’ than the previous season, where the team finished sixth. Haise emphasized the importance of tactical progression and maintaining a positive locker room atmosphere. Despite a summer of friendly matches without a victory, Haise expressed satisfaction with the current group and the squad's ability to compete at a high level.
