Stade Rochelais player Salmaan Moerat recovers from cervical injury

South African international lock Salmaan Moerat is set to make his Top 14 debut for Stade Rochelais against Union Bordeaux-Bègles following a recovery from a serious cervical injury. The 28-year-old, who joined the club in September from the Stormers, experienced tingling in his fingers after an opponent landed on his head during a lineout in South Africa.

Moerat initially continued playing for two matches before medical examinations addressed the injury. The Springbok player has now been cleared to compete in the French championship after a period of convalescence.
