Stade shooting: Medical report confirms infant suffered shaken baby syndrome

A medical report has confirmed that a three-month-old infant involved in a custody dispute suffered from shaken baby syndrome. This diagnosis follows an incident in Stade, west of Hamburg, where a father shot and killed six youth welfare employees.

The shooting occurred on June 29 during a meeting intended to discuss child custody at a mother-child facility. The victims included four women and two men. The investigation into the infant's injuries, which led to the parents losing custody, is being handled by the Hannover Public Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities are also continuing investigations into the child's mother for suspected severe child abuse. If convicted, she faces potential imprisonment.
