LOU Rugby wraps season with celebratory match at historic Gerland stadium

LOU Rugby closed the 2025‑2026 Top 14 season with a home game against Montpellier at Lyon’s Stade de Gerland. The match coincided with the stadium’s centenary, the 100th professional appearance of centre Ethan Dumortier and the 200th game of lock Félix Lambey. In addition to the sporting contest, the club held a ceremony honouring four players departing in the off‑season – prop Cedate Gomes Sa, flanker Arno Botha, second‑row Killian Géraci and winger Vincent Rattez. Coach Karim Ghezal highlighted the symbolic weight of the occasion, describing Gerland as a “fortress to conquer” while acknowledging the need for greater consistency after a mixed campaign. The event combined on‑field competition with tributes to the club’s history and its outgoing members.
