Stade Toulousain faces injury setbacks and recruitment failure

Stade Toulousain is experiencing significant roster challenges due to failed recruitment and new injuries. The club's attempt to sign Tongan international Jimmy Tupou as a replacement for Emmanuel Meafou has fallen through after medical examinations revealed a previously undetected pathology. As a result, the 34-year-old lock will return to the Southern Hemisphere without joining the team.

Adding to the squad's difficulties, Lucien Richardis, a 21-year-old fullback on loan at SU Agen, suffered a concussion during a match against Nice. Richardis was expected to rejoin the Toulouse squad next week to prepare for their upcoming fixture against Pau, but the injury has delayed his return.

To address the shortage in the second row, the club is temporarily recalling Raphaël Portat from his loan at Provence Rugby. The move comes as the team continues to manage the unavailability of several key players, including Meafou, Thibaud Flament, and Clément Vergé.
