Stade Toulousain leads Top 14 salary cap rankings

The Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR) has released the club-by-club salary cap figures for the Top 14 for the 2026-2027 season. This marks the first time the league has disclosed specific caps for each individual club.

Stade Toulousain holds the highest salary cap at €13.8 million. This total is comprised of a €11 million base cap plus €2.8 million in international credits earned through having 16 players (15 in the XV de France and 1 in France 7s) called up in 2025. Union Bordeaux-Bègles follows in second place with a cap of €12.72 million, driven by 10 international players.

Other notable caps include Toulon at €12.18 million and La Rochelle at €12.16 million. At the lower end of the spectrum, clubs such as Castres, Perpignan, and Vannes have the minimum cap of €11.1 million, as they had no players called up for the French national teams in 2025. The salary cap system is designed to control spending and ensure competitive balance across the league.
