Stade Toulousain unveils Pic du Midi themed jersey

Rugby club Stade Toulousain has unveiled a special away jersey for the 2026-2027 season titled "Gardiens des Étoiles" (Guardians of the Stars). The white kit features the relief of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre and is the result of a collaboration between the club, Nike, the University of Toulouse, the Midi-Pyrénées Observatory, the CNRS, and the Pic du Midi mixed syndicate.

The initiative serves as a scientific and cultural storytelling platform to support the Pic du Midi's bid for UNESCO World Heritage status, with a decision expected in the summer of 2027. The jersey's design incorporates LiDAR technology graphics used for mapping terrain and glaciers, bridging the gap between sports and scientific achievement.

Beyond honoring 150 years of astronomical observation, the campaign emphasizes environmental messages regarding climate change, light pollution, and glacier health.
