Stadio San Francesco partial reopening amid construction investigation

The Stadio San Francesco in Nocera Inferiore has been granted partial reopening following an investigation into unauthorized construction work conducted under the stadium tribune. The provincial commission for public entertainment venues in Salerno authorized access to the 'Distinti' and 'Curve' sections, but the tribune, its related areas, and the locker rooms remain prohibited.

The Prosecutor's Office of Nocera Inferiore has opened an investigation into the works, naming the president of the Nocerina football club as an individual under investigation.

Imma Zinnia, a local representative for the Azione party, has called for accountability from the municipal administration, noting that the stadium is a municipal facility. Zinnia questioned whether the administration was aware of the construction, which had been reported in local media, and demanded transparency regarding authorizations and oversight. Mayor Paolo De Maio stated that the administration worked with the goal of making the stadium ready for fans, though Zinnia criticized this as a political statement rather than an administrative explanation.
