Stadium of Peace and Friendship tender cancelled, new bid set for 10 Sept 2026

The Greek Supreme Audit Court (Ελεγκτικό Συνέδριο) identified procedural omissions in the pre‑contractual audit of the energy‑upgrade project for the Stadium of Peace and Friendship (ΣΕΦ). As a result, it annulled the original tender, which had begun on 4 May 2026 with TEKAL as the lowest‑priced bidder, and ordered a re‑tender to be conducted on 10 September 2026.

The project, valued at €24.8 million, will be overseen by the Technical Chamber of Greece (Τεχνικό Επιμελητήριο Ελλάδας). While the energy‑upgrade work is delayed, other modernization activities at the stadium continue. A separate legal challenge by a citizens' group has been filed with the Council of State seeking to suspend the works; a decision on that appeal is expected following a July ruling.
