Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman upgrade to cost over RM6 million

The Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium (STAR) in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan, is undergoing an extensive upgrade project costing more than RM6 million. The renovation is being carried out in four main phases to improve facilities and comfort for athletes and supporters.

Two phases have already been completed, including the renovation of home and visitor changing rooms at a cost of approximately RM500,000 and exterior painting work exceeding RM600,000. The remaining work involves upgrading the stadium's lighting and floodlight system, including wiring and pole relocation, which is allocated approximately RM4.3 million. Additionally, RM650,000 has been designated for repairing public toilets and prayer rooms.

Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, the Chairman of the Negeri Sembilan Youth and Sports Development Committee, stated that the lighting project is expected to be completed by November if existing pole structures are deemed stable, or by March next year if replacements are necessary. The Public Works Department (JKR) is currently conducting technical inspections on the old poles. This is the first major upgrade for the stadium since 2004.
