Stadler TINA trams begin trial operations in The Hague

The HTM public transport operator in The Hague has commenced trial operations for its new generation of TINA trams, manufactured by Stadler. These vehicles are part of a larger order for 62 three-part trams intended to modernize the city's tram network and gradually replace the existing GTL8 fleet.

The TINA trams are 36.5 meters long, 2.65 meters wide, and fully air-conditioned, with a capacity for up to 230 passengers. Designed with accessibility in mind, the low-floor construction facilitates easier boarding for wheelchair users, people with limited mobility, and travelers with strollers.

Technical features include a Lithium-Titanium-Oxide (LTO) battery system that allows the trams to traverse non-electrified sections of up to 1.26 kilometers without overhead lines. The vehicles also feature advanced driver assistance systems, such as a collision warning system, and specialized bogies designed to ensure a quiet ride while reducing wear on wheels and tracks. The trams are manufactured at the Stadler plant in Siedlce, Poland.
