Stadtreinigung Leipzig replaces paper vouchers with digital system

Stadtreinigung Leipzig is transitioning from paper vouchers to a digital system for various waste management services. This change affects the disposal of green waste at recycling centers, as well as the collection of electronic waste and bulky waste.

While service prices remain unchanged—such as 70 cents for 100 liters of green waste and 14 euros for large electronic appliance collection—the method of payment is shifting. Starting in the new year, payments for these services will be handled exclusively through the Stadtreinigung app.

Sales outlets will cease the distribution of paper vouchers on January 1, 2027. Citizens holding existing paper vouchers can redeem them at recycling centers until June 30, 2027. For those seeking refunds, paper vouchers can be returned to the main cash desk or the advisory shop until December 31, 2028.
