Staffolo hosts regional memorial for victims of terrorism and massacres
The town of Staffolo held a regional memorial event at the Teatro Cotini to honor victims of terrorism and massacres. The gathering brought together students, citizens, institutions, and law enforcement to reflect on justice, legality, and the Italian Constitution.
Luigi Ciotti, founder of Gruppo Abele and Libera, addressed the assembly, stating that memory must be transformed into daily responsibility and action. The event also featured testimonies from Bruno D’Alfonso, son of a terrorism victim, and Francesco Mongiovì, a former member of Giovanni Falcone’s security detail.
The ceremony honored Domenico Ricci, a Carabinieri officer and driver in Aldo Moro’s escort, who was killed during the 1978 Red Brigades attack in Rome. During the event, the “Domenico Ricci Democracy and Legality” award was presented, and local officials emphasized the importance of passing this historical memory to younger generations.
