MK Stalin accuses TN CM Vijay of negligence over rising crime

DMK president MK Stalin has accused Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay of negligence regarding the state’s deteriorating law and order situation. In a statement, Stalin claimed that a wave of violent crimes and unchecked drug trafficking is a direct result of the government’s failure to monitor criminals and manage the police department.

Stalin cited several recent incidents to support his claims, including a brutal murder in Dindigul and the daylight hacking death of a history-sheeter on bail in Sivaganga. He also highlighted a horrific case near Perundurai involving the abduction and murder of a nurse.

Furthermore, the DMK leader alleged that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) functionaries are involved in drug trafficking, operating under perceived political impunity. He pointed to the recent arrests of a TVK Union Secretary for ganja smuggling and another official, 'Meth' Boopalan, for allegedly attempting to turn the state into a methamphetamine manufacturing hub.
