GSC Game World releases Stalker 2: Cost of Hope DLC
Ukrainian developer GSC Game World announced that the large‑scale expansion Cost of Hope for Stalker 2 will launch on 20 August 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The DLC adds two previously inaccessible zones – the Iron Forest, a rusted, anomaly‑filled industrial labyrinth, and the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, with its machine halls and administrative blocks.
The update also brings a free Patch 2.0 that upgrades the game to Unreal Engine 5.5.4, improving lighting, shadows, weather effects and anomaly visuals. New gameplay elements include additional characters, a fresh mutant called Cadaver, and a non‑linear storyline that runs parallel to the base game, letting player choices influence the fate of the Zone’s factions Duty and Freedom. The expansion promises dozens of hours of content and will be available worldwide at launch.
