S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 receives major update and first expansion

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is receiving a major overhaul through the free Update 2.0, titled “Back to the Zone,” alongside its first story expansion, “Cost of Hope.” The update introduces visual improvements, enhanced AI systems, new weapons, and expanded environmental interactions. New explorable areas, such as the Iron Forest and the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, will be added to the game.

The “Cost of Hope” expansion integrates directly into the main campaign, offering over twenty hours of new material. It features a narrative that begins before the end of the protagonist Skif’s journey and concludes around the middle of the base campaign. Recent developments aim to improve the A-Life simulation and combat mechanics to create a more dynamic world.

Other notable gaming updates include HoYoverse’s Version 4.5 for Honkai: Star Rail, which introduces new adventures in Astropolis, and the addition of a crafting system and Spirit Mastery to Titan Quest II in its Early Access phase.
