Stamatis Spanoudakis postpones Missolonghi concert after mild stroke

Greek composer Stamatis Spanoudakis has announced the postponement of his upcoming concert in Missolonghi, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 26. The cancellation follows a mild stroke suffered by the musician.

In a video shared on social media, Spanoudakis explained that the medical episode has caused mobility issues in his right hand, specifically affecting his fingers. He stated that he will be unable to play musical instruments for at least two months and must undergo further medical examinations.

The concert, titled ‘For Missolonghi’, was part of the official celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the Fall of Missolonghi. Spanoudakis expressed deep regret toward his audience and the musicians who had prepared for the event, noting the difficulty of the decision after two years of organizing the performance. Despite the setback, he remains optimistic and intends to focus on musical composition during his recovery.
