Journalist Stamatis Zacharos leaves One Channel

Journalist Stamatis Zacharos has announced the end of his collaboration with One Channel, marking the conclusion of his program ‘EDO’. In a social media post, Zacharos described the termination of his partnership as having occurred ‘suddenly and without reason’ following a meeting with the station's management.

Zacharos expressed gratitude to the station's management, owner Dionysis Panagiotakis, his colleagues, and his guests from across the political, economic, and social spectrum. He noted that his program provided a ‘hard talk’ format that was uncommon in the Greek media landscape.

The departure follows recent controversy surrounding comments made by the journalist regarding the victims of the Tempi railway tragedy and the Polytechnic uprising. Zacharos had previously issued an apology, acknowledging that his remarks were a mistake.
