Stampace police conduct intensified security checks in red zone

Authorities in Stampace are conducting intensified security checks in the “red zone” spanning Piazza del Carmine and Piazza Matteotti. Recent operations by the Carabinieri resulted in four individuals being removed from the area. During these patrols, officers also intercepted a 20-year-old in possession of hashish.

Previous police activity in the region identified several youths involved in the sale of narcotics and prescription-only medications. The Prefettura is currently evaluating whether to extend the enhanced surveillance ordinance, which is set to expire on September 30.

In addition to the red zone enforcement, the Carabinieri conducted broader monitoring across the territory. These efforts included addressing incidents of aggression against officers and detecting drivers operating under the influence of alcohol.
