Stan Borys celebrates 85th birthday in Rzeszów

Polish musician Stan Borys celebrated his 85th birthday in Rzeszów, a city central to his early artistic development. The jubilee included a documentary screening titled ‘Stan Borys. Głos, który wpływa na pokolenia’, followed by a musical performance featuring new arrangements of his most famous works.

Performers at the event included vocalist Margo S. (Małgorzata Staniszewska) and Grzegorz Wilk, accompanied by a live band led by Tomasz Jachym. The evening also featured poetry recitations of Borys's work by actress Justyna Król. The celebration was organized by the Wojewódzki Dom Kultury in Rzeszów and the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.

During a visit to Radio VIA, Borys reflected on his career, noting that his classic song ‘Jaskółka uwięziona’ remains timeless and continues to resonate with younger generations. He discussed his musical roots in Rzeszów, including his time with the band Blackout and his early involvement in poetry and recitation.
