Stan Wawrinka and Gaël Monfils receive wildcards for final Roland Garros appearances

The French Open has granted main‑draw wildcards to Swiss two‑time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka and French fan‑favorite Gaël Monfils for what is expected to be their last appearances at Roland‑Garros before retiring at the end of the 2025 season. Wawrinka, 41, the 2015 French Open champion and former world No. 3, is ranked 125th, while Monfils, 39, a former semi‑finalist and the ATP Tour’s oldest title‑winner, is ranked 222nd. The wildcards are part of the tournament’s tribute to the retiring legends, alongside entries for American, Australian and French players. The French Open begins on 24 May.
