Stan Wawrinka to host Federer, Murray, and Monfils in Geneva farewell

Tennis legend Stan Wawrinka will celebrate his retirement with a star-studded exhibition event titled ‘One Last Backhand’ in Geneva on December 19, 2026. The event will feature Roger Federer, Andy Murray, and Gaël Monfils.

The program includes a singles match between Wawrinka and Monfils, followed by a doubles match where Wawrinka and Federer will face Murray and Monfils. This reunion brings together several icons of the era, including Wawrinka and Federer, who previously won Olympic doubles gold in 2008.

While Monfils recently announced his retirement from professional tennis following a separation from Elina Svitolina, he has agreed to participate in this exhibition. Although the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has classified Monfils as a retired player—requiring a six-month out-of-competition testing period before returning to official ATP competition—this exhibition provides an opportunity for fans to see him on court one last time.
