Swiss three‑time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka announced that he will retire after the 2026 season and will mark the end of his career with a charitable exhibition titled “One Last Backhand” on 19 December 2026 in Geneva’s Palexpo arena.

The event will feature fellow former world No. 1 Roger Federer, former world No. 4 Andy Murray and French veteran Gaël Monfils, who will compete in singles and doubles matches. Wawrinka said on Instagram, “Before leaving, I wanted to organize one last evening to thank you and say goodbye,” adding that he is “lucky to be able to count on my friends.”

Proceeds are earmarked for the Leman Hope Foundation and the Roger Federer Foundation. The 41‑year‑old, a former world No. 3 and winner of the 2014 Australian Open, 2015 French Open and 2016 US Open, is also preparing for his final Wimbledon appearance with a wildcard.
