Swiss veteran Stan Wawrinka, 41, is marking his final season on the ATP tour in 2026 with a Wimbledon opening‑round match against Italy's Matteo Berrettini. The Swiss three‑time major champion, who has yet to win Wimbledon, hopes to secure the last missing Grand Slam title as he enters what he has said will be his last year competing.

Later in the year, Wawrinka will host a farewell event titled “One Last Backhand” on 19 December at Palexpo in Geneva. The celebration will be attended by former rivals and friends Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Gaël Monfils, providing a final gathering for fans and colleagues before his retirement.

Both the Wimbledon appearance and the Geneva party underscore the closing chapter of Wawrinka's two‑decade professional career.
