Stanbic Bank Uganda commits UGX 600 million to maternal health and expands lending
Stanbic Bank Uganda has launched two major initiatives aimed at social impact and financial accessibility. The bank has committed UGX 600 million to a three-year partnership with Rotary Mama Toto Care Uganda. This collaboration focuses on strengthening maternal and newborn healthcare within existing public health facilities to reduce preventable deaths.
Executive Director Paul Muganwa stated that maternal health is a national economic priority, noting that a healthy mother is essential for a productive workforce and Uganda’s long-term economic goals. The initiative is part of the bank’s Positive Impact Agenda.
Simultaneously, Stanbic Bank has revamped its ‘Oli in Charge’ campaign to expand unsecured lending. The program targets salaried workers, entrepreneurs, and farmers, offering loans of up to Shs 350 million for salaried individuals and up to Shs 250 million for non-salaried customers without collateral. The campaign aims to provide faster, simpler access to credit for school fees, business expansion, and agricultural investments.
