Stanbic Bank Uganda launches campaign to combat rising cyber fraud

Stanbic Bank Uganda has launched the ‘Stay Switched On’ campaign, an initiative designed to educate customers on protecting themselves against digital and cyber-enabled financial fraud. The campaign aims to provide tools and knowledge to help users navigate the risks associated with the country’s rapidly expanding digital banking and electronic payment sectors.

According to Stephen Adatu, Vice Chairperson of the Fraud and Forgery Subcommittee at the Uganda Bankers Association, digital and cyber-related fraud now represents nearly one-third of all fraud cases reported within the Ugandan banking industry. Sam Bulenzi, Stanbic Bank Head of Coverage, emphasized that protecting customer wealth is essential to supporting Uganda’s broader economic transformation and growth.
