Standard Chartered expands digital asset custody in Singapore
Standard Chartered is expanding its digital asset custody services in Singapore, aiming to integrate cryptoassets, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets into its traditional asset servicing framework. The service is designed for institutional and accredited corporate clients, providing a regulated environment that mirrors the protections available for traditional assets.
The bank’s expansion follows its acquisition of Zodia Custody’s regulated business and a partnership with Anchorage Digital Singapore, which adds institutional USD accounts and SWIFT transfer capabilities for digital assets. These developments allow the bank to support clients across a broader range of asset lifecycles within a single institutional-grade framework.
Operating under the oversight of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the services must comply with the Payment Services Act and the Securities and Futures Act. Standard Chartered plans to extend these digital asset custody services to other major financial hubs, including the UAE, Luxembourg, and Hong Kong, by mid-2026.
