Standard Chartered to acquire Zodia Custody
Standard Chartered has signed definitive agreements to acquire 100% of Zodia Custody UK Limited, the parent company of Zodia’s regulated operating entities. The acquisition includes regulated custody operations across Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and Luxembourg.
Upon completion, Zodia’s regulated crypto custody business will be integrated into Standard Chartered’s existing Securities Services division. This move aims to consolidate the bank's traditional securities services with digital asset custody for institutional clients.
Separately, Zodia’s software and professional services assets will be transferred to Zodia Solutions, an independent entity operating under SC Ventures. This entity will focus on providing digital asset infrastructure to financial institutions. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
