Standard coach criticizes Gustav Mortensen after Dender match

Standard Liège coach Vincent Euvrard has publicly addressed the declining performance of Danish defender Gustav Mortensen following a difficult outing in the Belgian Cup against Dender.

During the match, Mortensen was substituted in the 70th minute for Tobias Mohr. Euvrard noted that the 22-year-old has struggled with ball control, inaccurate passing, and missed interceptions, which became increasingly problematic as Dender increased pressure in the second half.

Euvrard stated that while Mortensen showed progress prior to a recent match against Antwerp, his performance in the last two games has fallen below expected levels. The coach attributed these difficulties to the player's struggle to regain form since returning from injury and indicated that the team management will carefully consider the lineup for the upcoming match against Genk.
