Standard de Liège loans Boško Šutalo to Aris Thessaloniki
Standard de Liège has officially announced the loan of Croatian central defender Boško Šutalo to the Greek club Aris Thessaloniki for the remainder of the season. The agreement includes an option for Aris to purchase the 26-year-old player permanently.
Šutalo, who is under contract with Standard until June 2029, joined the Belgian club on a free transfer from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2024. After a loan spell at Cracovia in Poland last season, where he made 28 appearances, he returned to Liège but struggled to secure a place in the starting lineup and faced injury issues during the recent pre-season.
The move is seen as a way for Standard to manage its finances, as the defender's high salary has been a burden. The purchase option for Aris is reportedly valued at approximately 2 million euros, aligning with his current market value.
