Standard Liège signs midfielder Rayan Touzghar
Rayan Touzghar has been officially presented as the new midfielder for Standard Liège. The 22-year-old French-Moroccan player joined the club from Pau FC for a reported fee of one million euros, signing a three-year contract with an option for an additional season.
Touzghar cited the club's project and discussions with Marc Wilmots and coach Vincent Euvrard as primary reasons for his move. This marks the first top-division club of his career, following a progression through various levels of French football, including stints at Toulouse, Nîmes, Guingamp, and Pau.
Coach Vincent Euvrard expressed confidence in the signing, stating that Touzghar is the type of versatile player the team required. Touzghar, who prefers a box-to-box role, noted that while he is still working on his match rhythm, he feels good and is ready to contribute to the team's upcoming Jupiler Pro League fixtures.
