Standing Stone Games announces LOTRO expansion ‘The Wolves of Mordor’

Standing Stone Games has announced the release date for the upcoming expansion to The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO), titled ‘The Wolves of Mordor’. The expansion is scheduled to launch on October 21, 2026.

The new content will take players to Draugardh, a remote area of Mordor located beyond Gorgoroth. The narrative will explore new locations such as Heledhris, Parth Rhavas, and Nan Ogol, focusing on Easterlings who worship wolves and the emergence of werewolf-like entities linked to Sauron’s legacy.

In addition to the expansion, the studio released Update 49.6, ‘In Good Company’. This update introduces the ‘Neighbour System’ for player housing, UI scaling support for Lua plugins, and various adjustments to game events, including the Veil of the Nine festival and combat mechanics in the Ettenmoors.
