Stanford Health Care layoffs Palo Alto healthcare workforce job cuts

Stanford Health Care has announced it will lay off 95 employees this fall, with the cuts set to take effect on November 2. The affected staff are located at worksites in Palo Alto and work within technology, digital solutions, and various administrative departments.

According to a public WARN filing, the job cuts include 23 principal clinical systems analysts, 13 IT clinical applications team leads, and 16 positions in the human relations department. Spokesperson Lisa Kim stated that these roles do not provide direct patient care and that the changes will not impact the organization’s ability to deliver high-quality medical services. The organization is offering support for redeployment within the company where possible.

This announcement follows previous workforce reductions within the broader Stanford ecosystem; last year, Stanford University laid off 363 staff members. While Stanford Health Care and Stanford University are separate legal entities, they maintain a close partnership.
