Stanisław Sojka’s death recalled by son Antoni

Polish singer‑songwriter and pianist Stanisław Sojka died unexpectedly on 21 August 2025 in Sopot, just hours before his scheduled appearance at the Top of the Top Sopot Festival. The 66‑year‑old artist’s sudden passing shocked his family, friends and the Polish music community.

His son Antoni Sojka, who had worked in his father’s band for many years, spoke about the final moments and their evolving relationship. Antoni described how his father’s health had been affected by long‑term obesity and emerging diabetes, noting that the musician felt unwell after a rehearsal and died in his hotel room. He reflected on the personal and professional bond they shared, saying his father was “a strong man” but that his weight issues had burdened him throughout life.
