Stanislav Lobotka criticizes intense football schedule
Napoli and Slovakia midfielder Stanislav Lobotka has criticized the intense football schedule, warning that the frequency of matches is causing excessive physical stress and increasing injury risks for players.
In an interview with Sport24, Lobotka highlighted the difficulty of playing four matches in seventeen days, noting that travel and varying pitch conditions, such as those experienced during a match against the Faroe Islands, add to the exhaustion. He emphasized that despite high salaries, the physical toll on the human body remains significant.
Lobotka expressed concern regarding the upcoming period, noting that he faces nine matches with Napoli before returning to international duty, often with games scheduled every three days. He pointed to the high number of player injuries as evidence of the unsustainable nature of the current calendar.
