Stanislav Párnický: Renowned Slovak film director passes away at 77

Colleagues and associates are remembering the life and career of prominent Slovak film and television director Stanislav Párnický, who has passed away at the age of 77. Párnický was a significant figure in Slovak cinematography, known for directing impactful works such as ‘Kára plná bolesti’ and ‘Južná pošta’.

Beyond his filmography, Párnický was a dedicated educator at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), where he helped establish the film directing study program and shaped future generations of filmmakers.

Those who worked with him, including producer Adriana Kronerová and Jakub Kroner, described him as a unique and complex individual. They characterized him as a person with a distinct, sometimes eccentric way of communicating, yet noted his profound kindness and deep perception of the world.
