Stanko Markov, a 72-year-old resident of the village of Samoš in the South Banat District, has gained social media attention for erecting his own tombstone during his lifetime.

The monument features a photograph of Markov alongside an image of a field crane, which reportedly represented a significant part of his life. The epitaph has drawn mixed reactions online due to its blunt commentary on his personal life, stating: “Deceived, robbed, and forgotten by family.”

Following the sharing of the image on X (formerly Twitter), users expressed a range of emotions, with some finding the situation humorous while others described it as “sad and funny at the same time.” Some commenters noted the emotional weight of the message regarding his strained family relationships.
