Stanley Black & Decker to sell Excel Industries to Bad Boy Mowers

Stanley Black & Decker has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Excel Industries business to Bad Boy Mowers. The Excel business, which includes the Hustler brand of professional-grade, gas-powered, ride-on, and zero-turn mowers, is projected to generate approximately $300 million in revenue for fiscal year 2026.

Company leadership stated that the sale is intended to refine the corporate portfolio, allowing the firm to concentrate resources on high-growth areas and its primary brands, such as Cub Cadet, DeWalt, Craftsman, Troy-Bilt, and Black+Decker. The company remains focused on investing in electric outdoor products and residential mowers.

Separately, financial analysts have provided varying outlooks on Stanley Black & Decker's stock. Wall Street Zen recently upgraded the company from a “buy” to a “strong-buy” rating, while Citigroup increased its price target to $107.00 with a “buy” rating. Other institutions, including Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, have maintained more neutral positions.
