Stanley Eguma named head coach of Benin's Buffles du Borgou

Nigerian coach Stanley Eguma, a CAF A‑Licence holder who led Rivers United to the 2021/22 Nigeria Premier Football League title and previously managed Enyimba, has been appointed head coach of Benin Ligue Pro side Buffles du Borgou. The appointment marks Eguma's first managerial role outside Nigeria and follows his eight‑year tenure at Rivers United, the longest continuous spell for a coach in the NPFL.

Buffles du Borgou, based in Parakou and former Benin Ligue 1 champions, finished fifth in the last season and are looking to improve their domestic standing. Club officials expect Eguma’s experience and defensive discipline to raise the squad’s competitiveness and challenge for league and cup honours in the upcoming campaign.
