Stanley Nkwocha urges South-East to seek strategic political alliances
Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President, has called on Nigeria’s South-East region to adopt strategic political alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) sensitization meeting in Ngor Okpala, Imo State, Nkwocha argued that the region must reassess its political strategy considering its voter population dynamics and national political realities. He emphasized that constructive engagement with the Federal Government is essential for regional development, citing the South-East Development Commission and ongoing federal highway reconstructions as evidence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to the area.
Nkwocha also questioned the political maneuvers of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, specifically addressing reports of a potential political arrangement with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. He expressed concern regarding how such arrangements might impact the long-term political trajectory of the South-East.
