Stanslaus Nyongo urges TARURA to prioritize industrial roads in Kibaha

Pwani Regional Commissioner Stanslaus Nyongo has directed the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) to reassess its priorities and accelerate infrastructure improvements in industrial investment zones. Speaking during a visit to the King Lion Industrial Complex in Kibaha on October 22, 2026, Nyongo emphasized that road development should not focus solely on rural areas.

Nyongo highlighted a specific two-kilometer stretch of dilapidated road leading to the industrial complex as a long-standing issue. He stated that roads serving industrial areas require special attention due to their critical role in production and transportation.

In response to investor concerns regarding electricity, Nyongo noted that the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) is working to resolve power availability challenges in these investment zones. Jerry Chow, General Manager of Operations at King Lion, previously identified poor road infrastructure and unreliable electricity as primary obstacles affecting the local investment climate.
