Star Academy contestant Khalil announces intention to leave program

A major development has occurred in the 2026 season of the Star Academy reality competition at the Dammarie-les-Lys château. Following the announcement of the first nominations—which included Félix, Mélina, and Khalil—the 24-year-old contestant Khalil announced his intention to leave the program.

Khalil stated that his decision was driven by personal difficulties rather than artistic ones, noting, “I am realizing some difficulties that I have... I don't think I can hold on to this rhythm.” He expressed a desire not to take the place of a fellow contestant who might better deserve to stay.

In response to the unexpected announcement, the program's director, Mosimann, suspended the weekly nominations and offered Khalil a private discussion to reconsider. While the departure remains a subject of intense speculation among viewers and production, the immediate impact has been the suspension of the voting process for the week.
