Star Bulk Carriers announces dual listing on Euronext Athens

Star Bulk Carriers, a major dry bulk shipping company currently listed on the Nasdaq, has announced its intention to pursue a dual listing on Euronext Athens. CEO Petros Pappas stated that the company aims to contribute to the development of Athens as an international investment hub and a significant maritime financial center.

The move follows a growing trend of shipping companies entering the Greek market, including Safe Bulkers and Seanergy Maritime. Pappas noted that the integration of the Athens Stock Exchange into the Euronext group provides access to a network of eight European exchanges and a unified trading platform.

Beyond market access, the company views the Greek market as a strategic ‘harbor’ to provide stability and security for shareholders amidst geopolitical tensions. The dual listing also aims to allow Greek individual investors to participate directly in the growth of a major Greek-founded shipping entity.
