Starý dobrý western music festival ends after 27 years
The long-running country, bluegrass, and folk music festival 'Starý dobrý western' has concluded its final edition after 27 years. Held at the Bystřička reservoir in the Vsetín region, the event was a staple of the genre in the Czech Republic since its founding in 1998.
Organizer Martin Mrlina cited a shortage of available performers as the primary reason for the decision to end the festival. He noted that many major Czech stars had already performed at the event, making it difficult to secure new high-profile talent. The festival had previously hosted various prominent figures, including Petr Spálený, Věra Martinová, and international guests such as American musicians Ray Scott and Jonathan Mannes.
