Star Magic defends Michelle Garcia against online harassment

Talent management agency Star Magic has issued a statement defending 13-year-old artist Michelle Garcia against online harassment. The agency urged the public to refrain from involving the minor in disputes involving adults that occurred before her birth.

The controversy follows an interview given by Michelle’s father, actor Patrick Garcia, on the YouTube channel of talent manager Ogie Diaz. In the interview, Garcia addressed past allegations regarding his relationship with actress Jennylyn Mercado and his involvement during her pregnancy. Garcia stated he felt compelled to clarify his side of the story after Michelle encountered negative social media comments.

In response to the situation, Mercado’s camp has declined to comment on the matter to preserve the privacy of both families. Meanwhile, Mercado’s longtime manager, Becky Aguila, criticized Garcia for revisiting the issue publicly rather than addressing it privately. Star Magic has indicated it is prepared to take legal action against those who continue to harass Michelle, citing laws that protect children from abuse and libel.
